What's new

Deposits down on the new RAMCharger?

Is the dream truck dead? All the hype and crickets. Will there be a 2026 production? Has anyone heard anything at all ??

I haven't heard anything and I'm signed up for their mailing lists... so crickets here :(

Based on the absolute dearth of communication and the 3rd critical delay of the delivery I have lost confidence and requested my deposit back.

A $100 deposit doesn't worry me. What I hope is they are using the delay to work the software bugs out of their release. After the Donut Labs CES release of Solid State Batteries, I would LOVE them making a pivot on battery technology that doubles the range and shortens the charging time. They would be able to come out and dominate day 1. All EV vendors will be moving to Solid State now that the gauntlet has been thrown down and I'm more concerned about waiting to ensure that the version I purchase has the new solid state battery tech. Here's the YouTube release video...

It's going crazy at CES... I wish Donut Labs was publicly traded.

That would be a neat reason for a delay, unfortunately I have no faith!

I put down a $100 deposit when I first heard about the Ramcharger, over a year ago.

It's been mostly crickets from RAM and lots of people here are wondering if they are even going to make them. Welcome to the site @Miles777

Sadly, it sounds to me that the Donut battery is made of fairy dust, as it would have to be magical to match all the hype. Time will tell.

Asked for my deposit back. I don't think RAM has a clue on how to communicate to potential customers. I have ZERO faith they will move forward with the Ramcharger....

Haha, I asked for my deposit back in the first week of January, I just received it today. Based on that maybe they will make the truck by 2029!

They must have laid off everyone who can do things there, they don't like customers!

OK, so I thought I would check - the Ram REV 1500 site still says delivery in 2026? (December 31st?) Since they don't have a configurator on the main site, anyone think they will actual ship *ONE* in 2026?

I doubt it will be out in 2026. I was looking forward to it but looks like Ford will beat them and release first. We shall wait and see what happens.

I'm pretty sure it will come out this year still. I don't think there is anything holding it up anymore and some of the 2027 model year changes for standard 1500s now allow a lot more common build between normal 1500s and the REV...so I tend to feel that was part of what they were waiting on. It's stuff related to the new automated cruise control regime that competes with SuperCruise. The systems to make that available on all models rather than just the EV derivatives begins with the 2027 model year.

The only real uncertain thing is if you will be able to get the Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4XE derivative of this EREV system or the RAM REV first this year. Both should become available before end of 2026 as 2027 models though.

I too got my $100 back I put $100 down on both the scout traveler and the scout terra scout folks send updates on their extended range vehicles every 2-3 weeks they know how to stay in contact w their potential customers I think this is stellantis’ last straw if this fails I think they might be done we shall see if they are “too big to fail “‘

The all electric "REV" was cancelled, there is only the EREV which is now called the REV. According to an interview with Kuniskis (you can find it on youtube) the delay stemmed from wanting the manufacturing capacity for the 5.7 as it is more profitable and they wanted to meet that demand first. From all the information available, it will be out Q4, possibly late Q3 for the initial run for dealership models. I think the Grand Wagoneer will be out next year as the chassis manufacturing ramps up over Q4. I really want it for camping, so they unfortunately missed out on my purchase $$'s this year, but will get one next spring. No sense in having a monthly car payment for 6 months when my 2020 Limited is fine for my needs over the winter, will give me another $5k to put down.

What are you talking about, Ford is 2 years from getting theirs out and Scout is delayed as well. This will be out this year, they will beat everyone else to market.

Production starts Q3, the "Butter da Insider" youtube channel posted production schedules for multiple different vehicles and the REV was to start in Q3 for a Q4 (possibly late Q3) delivery schedule as a 2027 model. Also, it was delayed because of customers (not despite customers) as everyone was clamoring for the return of the Hemi and Kuniskis made the decision to use the manufacturing capacity to get those out over the REV because they have a higher margin than the REV will, and the fact that the EV truck market is crap so there was no rush for this to get released. It is all in the Kuniskis video and multiple websites. The fact they have them at the car shows in production versions right now shows they are about to be released . . . finally.
