Jeep® CEO Says Grand Wagoneer 4xe Is Right Around The Corner

Robert S. Miller April 8, 2026

Jeep Focuses On Quality Before Rolling Out Electrified Variant

Jeep® is entering a critical phase in its electrification strategy, and the timing couldn’t be more relevant. As fuel prices continue to climb across the U.S. and Canada, the brand is preparing to introduce a solution that blends electric efficiency with traditional long-range capability. According to Jeep® CEO Bob Broderdorf, the highly anticipated Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4xe equipped with a range-extending electric vehicle (REEV) powertrain is almost ready for prime time.

During a recent media discussion, I had the opportunity to ask Broderdorf directly about the status of the Grand Wagoneer 4xe REEV. His response was clear and direct:

“REEV is obviously right around the corner. It’s the same exact problem as the Cherokee with the Recon. The reality is, [we] got to get the volume up, [we] got to get that quality and the speed on the line in the same space. Then we can add the REEV in.”

That statement perfectly sums up where Jeep stands today. The technology is ready, the demand is building, but execution remains the priority.

Hopefully something similar on the RAM REV end here and it just means we'll have a better product on day 1 and it won't be too late. Suspect HEMI things/demand/priority and maybe quality/efficiency of build on them are more the holdup and priority. But would think that doesn't push this back anymore. Can't imagine the HEMI demand has tons of legs generally.

Here's to hoping... seems like they just constantly let us down when it comes to the RAM Rev.

They have no concept of keeping potential customers informed define “right around the corner “ ahhhh let me help stellantis define this statement how bout 2032 maybe they keep moving the goal posts

scout (yes the old scout brand is being resurrected at mega plant in South Carolina ) on the other hand I get something from them almost weekly stuff like info on the mega plant progress or where the next place the two prototypes can be viewed

Scout will probably beat ram to the market with there extended range traveler and the extended range terra and oh by the way they started w dirt two years ago

I hate waiting but, selfishly, if they make the mistakes/work out the kinks with the Grand Wagoneer and produce a better 1500 EREV for it, then I guess I'll be satisfied.

Agree but it’s the extreme lack of communication and over promises and under delivering that is frustrating

Another article with Jeep claiming things are good to go this year and Ram refusing to comment. Really seems RAM isn't wanting to sacrifice any HEMI sales for this or they'd just confirm it's coming this year still. Basically seems like unless the HEMI sales start to taper off that the REV could slide into next year just to keep HEMI production volumes up.

Some good and some bad news for RAM that are mostly good news for them...but all bad news for RAM REV probably as they just can't make enough trucks more than likely...even without REV and possibly have a strike problem as I am sure they are just doing what they need to to try and keep up with demand...but dancing too close to the fire as far as whatever contracts they have with the UAW and increasing staff. Which if they really expect HEMI to be a very temporary demand surge as I am sure it could be...not probably a bad way to go about it.
